This sharp Tadano TG-500M of Al Zahid Heavy Equipments could be photographed on a parking in Doha (QA). It is a 50-tonne truck crane mounted on a 4-axle carrier. Remarkable is the right-hand steering of the crane, while in Qatar is driven on the right side of the road.
The crane is installed on a Nissan carrier. The carrier is powered by a Nissan RF8, a 17-liter 8-cylinder diesel engine, with a power of 253 kW (340 hp). The engine only powers the last two axles. The crane has a total mass of approx. 38.5 tonnes.
The 5-part main boom has a 10.65 meter base length and extends four times to a maximum length of 40 meters.
In transit is the crane 12.85 meters long, 2.82 meters wide and 3.75 meters tall. Below the front side is a fifth jack installed for an improved lifting chart over the front.
Diagonal below the main boom is the jib stored. The jib is 9 or 14.6 meters long. The jib can be installed under a 5, 25 or 45 degree angle to the mainboom.
The crane is fitted with two 4-tonne hoist winches with 18 mm hoist cable. The winches have a free-fall function and can be braked with foot-pedals from the cabin.
The tailswing of the counterweight is approx. 3.5 meters.
The outriggers extends to a maximum width of 7.4 meters, or half to 4.6 meters. The controls for the outriggers are located next to the front outriggers.
A very sharp crane of Al Zahid!
