
This interesting Sany SAC1600S belongs to Hup Hin from Singapore (SG) and was deployed during the erection of a large hall. It is a 160-tonne telescopic crane built in 2022, mounted on a 5-axle carrier.

The outrigger base measures 8.4 x 7.9 metres.

In transport condition, the crane is 15.53 metres long, 2.8 metres wide and 4 metres high. The transport weight without ballast and accessories is approximately 57 tonnes.

The carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM460LA, a 12.8-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 360 kW (483 hp). Axles 2, 4 and 5 are driven, and all axles are steerable. Optionally, the crane can also be powered by a Weichai diesel engine.

A storage box is mounted at the rear of the chassis. The four outrigger pads are carried on top of it.

Here, the crane was operating with 20.5 tonnes of ballast, which is the maximum amount of ballast that can geometrically be carried on the crane. The complete ballast weighs 52 tonnes; if required, the remaining ballast must be delivered by truck. The ballast has a swing radius of 4.86 metres.

The crane has a seven-section boom with a base length of 13.6 metres and a maximum length of 73 metres. Here, the main boom is telescoped to a length of 50.1 metres.

Depending on the hook configuration used, with this boom length and ballast the crane can lift a maximum of 28 tonnes at a radius of 10 metres or 2.1 tonnes up to a radius of 42 metres. On this construction site, the crane was used to lift steel sections for a new temporary hall.

The main boom can be extended with an 18-metre folding jib, which can be further extended with two 7-metre intermediate sections to a maximum length of 32 metres. In combination with a main boom of up to 68.2 metres in length, hook heights of almost 100 metres can be reached.
