Sany SCC6500A

Hiap Tong

This impressive Sany SCC6500A belongs to Hiap Tong from Singapore (SG). It is a 650-tonne crawler crane that was assembled for a test lift in the yard of Hiap Tong itself.

The crane is powered by a Cummins QSX15-C600, a 15-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 447 kW (600 hp). The diesel engine drives a total of five hydraulic pumps.

A single crawler is 11.74 metres long, 1.85 metres wide and 1.76 metres high. The transport weight per unit is 44.6 tonnes. The crawler is equipped with two drive motors.

The cab can be tilted by 20 degrees to provide the operator with improved upward visibility.

The undercarriage is 11.74 metres long and 10.1 metres wide. The maximum load of 650 tonnes can, if the correct configuration is applied, be lifted at a radius of 12 metres. The maximum load moment is 8,600 tm.

A total of 212.4 tonnes of ballast is mounted on the upper structure. This consists of two consoles of 6.2 tonnes each with a total of twenty blocks of 10 tonnes each. The ballast has a turning radius of 8.46 metres.

A total of 68.8 tonnes of central ballast is mounted on the undercarriage. This consists of two consoles of 4.4 tonnes each with a total of six blocks of 10 tonnes each.

The luffing winch of the main boom is mounted in the foot section of the superlift boom. In the foot section of the main boom, the luffing winch of the luffing jib is mounted. The second winch in the foot section is a third hoist winch.

The superlift boom has, depending on the length of the main boom, a length of 36 or 39.5 metres. Here the superlift boom is 36 metres long.

Up to 310.7 tonnes of ballast can be mounted on the superlift boom. The tray weighs 10.7 tonnes, on which a total of thirty blocks of 10 tonnes each can be stacked. Here 200.7 tonnes of superlift ballast was prepared.

The main boom has a length of 36 metres here. That is the shortest length in this configuration with superlift boom. The main boom has a maximum length of 108 metres in this configuration. If the correct reeving is applied, the crane can in this configuration lift 650 tonnes at 12 metres radius or 236 tonnes at 32 metres radius.

The 650-tonne hook was reeved here.

The hook was set to 36 falls. The crane is equipped with two 17.1-tonne hoist winches, using 28 mm hoisting rope. The hook weighs 20.2 tonnes, in this configuration the crane would be able to lift loads up to 595 tonnes at a radius of 14 metres. An impressive crane from Hiap Tong!
