This interesting P&H 440-TC belongs to Williams Cranes from Pinkenba (AU) and stood during a visit set up at their yard. It is a 40 US-tons (36 tonne) crane.
The carrier is 8.78 meters long and 2.74 meters wide. The transport mass is approx. 38.6 tonnes.
The carrier is powered by a Cummins NHF-240 or a Detroit Diesel 6-7N diesel engine. Both rear axles are powered, both front axles are steerable.
The outrigger base measures 4.89 x 6.1 meters.
For the erection of long main booms is it required to install additional outriggers at the rear of the chassis.
Attached to the superstructure is counterweight with a 7.35 tonne mass with a 3.56 meter tailswing.
In front of the cabin on the undercarriage is a counterweight slab with a 2.5 tonne mass installed.
The main boom has a 12.2 meter base length and a maximum length of 51.8 meters. Here is the crane fitted with a 42.7 meter long main boom. An interesting crane of Williams Cranes!
