Manitowoc 4600 Series 4 Ringer Series 3
This sharp and impressive Manitowoc 4600 Series 4 with Ringer Series 3 version was installed on a shipyard in Singapore (SG), it is a 680 tonne (750 US tons) crawler crane with ringer attachment from the eigthies.
Here was the crane fitted with a 260 ft (85.34 meter) long main boom, the main boom is extended by an 80 ft (24.38 meter) long fixed jib. Over this jib is the crane in this configuration able to hoist 524,100 lbs (237.7 tonnes).
The mast has a length of 130 ft (39.6 meters) and within are partially boom sections of the standard crawler crane integrated. On this crane has the A-frame no function to raise or lower the mast, this was optionally only. This crane requires an auxilairy crane to raise or lower the mast. The ring has a 60 ft (18.29 meter) diamter.
The crane was standard equiped with a Cummins VTA-1710-C700, a 12-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 511 kW (685 hp). The boom hinge of the main boom is positioned 30 ft (8.84 meters) away from the slewing ring.
Attached to the superstructure of the crawler crane is the standard counterweight of 123,000 lbs (55.8 tonnes). The auxilairy counterweight on the ringer attachment is 978,000 lbs (444 tonnes) and exists out of 22 slabs stacked on a base plate. The auxilairy counterweight has a 34 ft (11 meter) tailswing.
A very shap and impressive crane, in the meantime this crane was dismantled a while ago.
