This sharp Liebherr HS 853 HD of Zwagerman VMT from Nederhorst den Berg (NL) was used on a large job site in Venlo (NL), it is an 80-tonne heavy duty crane with year of manufacture 1996.
The undercarriage of the crane is 5.89 meters long and 4.8 meters wide. For the transport over the road is it possible to reduce the width of the undercarriage to 3.5 meters.
The crane is powered by a 6-cylinder Liebherr D 926 TI-E engine with a power of 200 kW (300 hp). Optionally was this crane type also available with an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 400 kW (544 hp). The heavy engine is required for the typical work for a heavy duty crane.
The HS 853 HD heavy duty crane was also available as LR 853 lifting crane. As a lifting crane the crane has a different classification and it became a 90-tonne crane.
The crane can lift its own counterweight with use of a cable reefing fron the ground so that the crane can be erected without the assistance of a mobile crane. The counterweight is not symetrically.
The crane is fitted with 24 tonnes of counterweight with a 4.56 meter tailswing.
The HS 853 HD was available with four different hoists, there was a choice between a 12, 16, 20 or 25 tonne hoist.
Attached to the main boom was a 9.15 meter long fixed jib, but wasn't in use here. The fixed jib has a maximum length of 18.3 meters.
The jib was installed on a 41 meter main boom. Zwagerman VMT had multiple cranes of this type in operation over the years.
