This interesting Liebherr HS 885 HD belongs to Züblin Spezialtiefbau from Stuttgart (DE) and was used on a construction site in Harderwijk (NL) to make a slurry wall foundation for an underground parking, using a mechanical slurry wall grab.
The Liebherr HS 885 HD is a 120-tonne heavy duty crawler crane, poweres by a MAN D 2842 LE, a 12-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 670 kW (898 hp).
The undercarriage is 6.75 meters long and 4.92 meters wide. For the transport over the road is the width to be reduced to 4 meters. Attached to the superstructure is a total of 32.5 tonnes, with a 5.52 meter tailswing.
The heavy duty crawler crane is fitted with two 30-tonne hoist winches with free-fall function.
Here was the crane used with a 20 meter long main boom, the maximum length is 56 meters.
The big slurry wall grab is used to make long, narrow channals which are later on filled with rebar and concrete. To prevent collapsing of the hole during the grabbing is betonite used, a thick fluid.
A typical use for which the Liebherr HS-series are developed.
