This sharp Liebherr LTM 1220-5.2 of Wundel stood parked on their yard in Mertingen (DE). It is the largest crane deployed by Wundel, and has year of manufacture 2010.
The undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 370 kW (503 hp). The engine powers the optional 10x8x10-drive line, where the axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are powered and all axles are steerable.
The outrigger base measures 8.9 x 8.3 meters, or half 8.9 x 5.5 meters. Geometrically would it be possible to bring the counterweight base plate on the carrier, but in Germany this is usually avoided due to axle load limitations.
In transit is the crane 15.6 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall. The transport mass is about 60 tonnes.
The main boom has a base length of 13.3 meters and extends five times to a maximum length of 60 meters. Optionally is the main boom to be extended by a 12.2 or 22 meter bi-fold swingaway jib.
In the box at the rear of the chassis are some outrigger woods and lifting gear transported. This is the standard box of Liebherr. The crane is fitted with a 10-tonne hoist winch with a 23 mm hoist cable.
The first pieces of the counterweight are transported on a 3-axle flat bad trailer. On the trailer are laying the first 32 tonnes of counterweight and the large outrigger pads.
Another 22 tonnes of counterweight are transported on a 5-axle trailer. In total has the crane 74 tonnes of counterweight with a tailswing of 4.85 meters.
A very sharp and strong crane of Wundel!
