During an open day on Wiesbauer's yard in Bietigheim (DE) stood this sharp Liebherr MK 140 erected. It is a 140 mt mobile tower crane with a maximum 65 meter long jib installed on a 5-axle crane carrier.
The crane carrier is powered by a Liebherr D946 A7, a 6-cilinder diesel engine with a power of 400 kW (544 hp). The engine powers the axles 2, 4 and 5, all axles are steerable.
The outrigger base of the crane is 8.25 meters long, the width can be choosen between 5.95, 6.95 or maximum 8.2 meters.
In transit is the crane 15.97 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall. The transport mass is 60 tonnes. Wiesbauer has at the back of the chassis a storage box for spreader woods and rigging mounted. Optionally a platform can be choosen to transport larger items like a concrete skip.
Here was the crane fitted with 6 tonnes of counterweight, that is the maximum that geometrically fits on the crane during transport over the road. The counterweight has a tailswing of 4.25 meters. The full counterweight configuration weights 9 tonnes.
The 3-part tower is here maximum extended and the 58.5 meter long trolley jib is luffed in a 45 degree angle. In this configuration is a maximum hook height of 75.5 meters reached by a 41.5 meter radius. The crane can lift maximum 1.7 tonnes at that position.
