Liebherr LTM 1220-5.2 - Traub

For the assembly of self-made precast concrete elements is construction company Traub from Aalen-Ebnat (DE) using own mobile cranes. This Liebherr LTM 1220-5.2 was a long time this biggest crane that had, at the moment is that a Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1.

It is a 220 tonne crane on a 5-axle carrier. The 5-axle carrier is powered by a Liebherr 6 cylinder diesel engine with 503 hp. 4 of the 5 axles are powered and all axles are steerable.

The outrigger base of the crane measures 8.9 x 8.3 meters, or half 8.9 x 5.5 meters.

Packed has the crane a 15.6 meter length, a 3 meter breadth and a 4 meter height. The transport weight is 60 tonnes.

The crane is fitted here with the complete counterweight of 74 tonnes. The counterweight has a 4.85 meter tailswing. Geometrically the lower and smaller plate could stay on the undercarriage during transport over the road. Due to the stricts allowable axle loadings in Germany is that not possible there.

The 6-part main boom has 5 telescopic sections. The main boom has a 13.3 meter base length and a maximum length of 60 meters. The main boom can be extended by a bi-fold swingaway jib with a maximum length of 36 meters, the crane itself can only bring 22 meters. The folding jib can be installed under a 0, 22.5 or a 45 degree angle.

The main boom is here 43.4 meters extended and the crane can lift with maximum counterweight 46.3 tonnes on a 8 meter radius and 10.1 tonnes on a 43 meter radius.

At the rear of the crane is a large storage box installed for wood and some lifting tools. The counterweight and outrigger pads are transported by trucks.
