Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 - Schot

The Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 of Schot used by the assembly of a Liebherr 550 EC-H 20 Litronic in Amsterdam (NL).

Used with the 84 meter main boom and the Y superlift.

The outrigger base of the crane measures 10 x 9.6 meters, or half 10 x 6.3 meters. For the transport of the outrigger pads and the first counterweights is Schot using a sharp Mercedes-Benz Actros 3355 with a 6 axle semi low loader.

The crane is here fitted with 135 tonnes of counterweight, that can be extended to 165 tonnes. The counterweight has a 6.6 meter tailswing. Above the counterweight you can see the adjustment for the luffing jib. The luffing jib has a maximum length of 91 meters.

Here is the counter jib of the 550 EC-H 20 assembled, the counter jib is 22.5 meters long and weight 9.7 tonnes. The 550 EC-H 20 is erected here with a 45.5 meter hook height.

The hoist gear weight around 6.2 tonnes.

The first part of the jib weights 7.2 tonnes and is 24 meters long.

The crane's year of manufacture is 2013.

The undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr D9508 A7, an 8 cylinder diesel engine with 680 hp. In total are 4 axles driven. The first 4 and the last 2 axles are steerable.

The second part of the 51.5 meter long jib weights 6.6 tonnes.

At the end the counterweight is hung into the counterjib.

After the tower crane is erected the 500 tonne crane can be taken down, for the transport over the road the superlift must be removed.

Packed has the crane a 21.3 meter length, a 3 meter breadth and a 4 meter height.
