At the Bauma 2019 Liebherr showed the updated version of the MK 88; the MK 88-4.1. The first unit that is built was presented in the colors of Schmidbauer from Munich (DE).
The crane carrier is powered by a Liebherr D946 A7, a water-cooled 6-cylinder diesel engine with 448 hp. All axles are steered and axles 2, 3 and 4 are driven. On the construction site, the crane can be powered by the diesel engine of the carrier or by a 32 A power connection, e.g. from the construction site, using an optional plug.
The outrigger base measures 7.3 x 7.0 meters, or half 7.3 x 5.8 meters.
In transport mode is the crane 15.94 meters long, 2,75 meters wide and 4.0 meters high. With 9.3 tonnes of counterweight is the weight of the crane 48 tonnes.
The tower is single extendable and gives the crane a 30.2 meter hook height with horizontal jib. With the jib luffed 45 degrees is the maximum hook height 59.1 meters at a 31.9 meter radius. The jib lenght is 45 meters.
With 9.3 tonnes of counterweight, the crane can be driven legally in most European countries within the 12 tonne axle load regulations. The tailswing of the counterweight is 3.6 meters. With this counterweight, the crane can lift 2 tonnes on a 45 meter radius.
The additional 2-tonne counterweight slab is removed to keep the axle loadings at 12 tonne and must be transported on a trailer or by truck. The crane can self install the additional counterweight. With the additional counterweight the tailswing is 3.7 meters and the tipload at 45 meters is 2.2 tonnes.
A very beautiful crane, ready for the future! More than 300 units of the predecessor MK 88 are already produced since 2009.
