Liebherr LTM 1080/1

Michielsens

This fine Liebherr LTM 1080/1 from Michielsens from De Meern (NL) was deployed to assemble a Sennebogen 5500 crawler crane on a large construction site in Zaandam (NL).

The four-axle carrier is powered by a Liebherr D 9406 TI-E, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 320 kW (435 hp). All axles are driven and steerable. The outrigger base measures 8.2 x 7 meters.

The six-section main boom has a base length of 10.8 meters and telescopes five times to a maximum length of 48 meters. Here, the crane was operated with a main boom length of 45 meters. Optionally, the main boom can be extended by means of a 10.8 - 19 meter folding jib.

The full ballast of 16 tonnes is mounted on the superstructure. This has a slewing radius of 3.7 meters.

To raise the long main boom with short luffing jib, the LTM 1080/1 had to be used. The main boom is now 24.5 meters long.

The crane is equipped with a 6-tonne hoist winch.

In transport condition, the crane is 12.6 meters long, 2.75 meters wide and 3.75 meters high. The transport weight is approximately 48 tonnes. Part of the ballast is carried on a 2-axle trailer.
