This Liebherr HS 841 HD of Liebherr-Baumaschinen AG from Reiden (CH) stood in a gravel pit near Dingolfing (DE). It is a 50-tonne heavy duty crane.
The heavy duty crane is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 442 A, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 267 kW (358 hp). The crane could be equiped with 8, 12, 16 or 20 tonne hoist winches.
The counterweight weights 11.8 tonnes, that exists out of a 7.6 tonne slab with a 4.2 tonne slab and has a tailswing of 4.075 meters.
The undercarriage is 5.24 meters long and 4.4 meters wide. For the transport over the road is the width to be reduced to 3 meters.
The HS 841 HD was working with a Hendrix bucket.
The HS 841 HD could be fitted with a main boom with a maximum length of 38 meters. Two different main boom heads were available, to be selected for the job. The head with two large pullies was used for heavy duty jobs and for normal lifting duties was a hammer head used.
Here was the heavy duty crane fitted with an 18 meter long main boom.
