Kurt Motz from Illertissen (DE) from Illertissen (DE) is deploying this sharp Liebherr HS 843 HD as a dragline to excavate gravel. As a lifting machine is this a 60-tonne crane and the year of manufacture is 1996.
The heavy duty crane is powered by a Liebherr 6-cylinder diesel engine D 926 TI-E with a power of 220 kW (300 hp). Optionally was is possible to equip the HS 843 HD with an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 400 kW (544 hp).
The counterweight weights 12.3 tonnes and has a 4.26 meter tailswing.
The undercarriage is 5.76 meters long and 4.55 meters wide. For the transport over the road is the breadth adjustable to 3.5 meters. The tracks are 0.7 meters wide.
A very sharp detail is the fair lead below the boom to align the drag cable in front of the drum. Next to the boom is a small winch installed for the tagline, usually in use when the crane is working with a grab.
Here was a Hendrix 2 TS bucket in use, the volume is 2 cubic yards which is comparable with 1.5 cubic meters.
The heavy duty crane was fitted here with a 26 meter main boom, that is the longest boom combination for work as a dragline.
