Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 - Kim Soon Lee

Here was the sharp Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 of Kim Soon Lee from Singapore (SG) installed with the bi-fold swingaway jib.

The crane is fitted with the full counterweight of 72 tonnes, here with the large tailswing of 5.73 meters. It all just fits within the narrow yard.

The outrigger base of the crane measures 9.35 x 7.4 meters (front) / 8.1 meters (rear).

Two large pipes were to be installed on large radius behind a building.

The eight-part main boom has a 12.7 meter base length and is here extended to the maximum length of 75 meters. The main boom is extended by the 20 meter long bi-fold swingaway jib.

The first pipe is lifted and slewed behind the building, the crane can't boom down anymore to increase the radius.

Luckiliy is this crane fitted with the hydraulic jib, the crane operator can adjust the angle of the jib towards the main boom from the cabin, by doing so, the radius can be increased!

The bi-fold swingaway jib is transported next to the base section during the transport over the road and has a 11.5 meter base length and an unfolded length of 20 meters. The angle against the main boom is on this crane adjustable by hydraulics in angle between 0 and 40 degrees. With the mechanical jib is the angle to be selected during the installation of the crane, and is choosen at 0, 20 or 40 degrees.

A very sharp crane and impressive job by Kim Soon Lee!
