Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1

Hiap Tong

The impressive Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 of Hiap Tong from Singapore (SG) was parked along the road in an industrial area during a weekend. It is a 1,200-tonne crane mounted on a nine-axle carrier. For transport on public roads, the boom is separated from the base machine. The year of manufacture of the crane is 2010.

The carrier is powered by a Liebherr 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 500 kW (680 hp). Axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are driven by the diesel engine and all axles are steerable.

The cab for the superstructure is mounted on a swivelling and height-adjustable arm. During transport on public roads, this cab is set down on top of the carrier engine.

The X-shaped outrigger base measures 13 x 13 metres. During transport on public roads, the large hydraulic top rams are placed on the rear outriggers.

The carrier is 19.95 metres long, 4 metres high and 3 metres wide. In the configuration shown, the carrier weighs 108 tonnes.

The superstructure is powered by a Liebherr 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 270 kW (367 hp). This diesel engine drives multiple hydraulic pumps. The crane is equipped with a 16-tonne hoist winch.

This crane was delivered new to Hiap Tong, but was deployed on a major project in Mongolia. Afterwards, the crane was brought to Singapore; because the crane was already more than three years old by then, it could no longer be registered. The crane has to be towed between locations.

To this day, this is still the heaviest telescopic crane working in Singapore. A very fine crane from Hiap Tong!
