Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 - Hiap Tong
The largest mobile crane in Hiap Tong's fleet and in Singapore is this impressive Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1. It is a 1,200-tonne crane mounted on a 9-axle carrier.
The boom was just mounted on the crane and the crane was being positioned for the job. In this configuration is the crane 26.42 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4.4 meters tall. The crane has a mass of approx. 212.4 tonnes with the long main boom and YSL-guying.
One day later was the crane fully erected.
Here is the full counterweight of 202 tonnes installed to the superstructure, the counterweight has a 9.151 meter tailswing. The counterweight exists out of a 22 tonnes base plate, in total sixteen slabs with each 10 tonnes and four slabs each with a mass of 5 tonnes.
The outrigger base measures 13 x 13 meters.
On the construction site was also the 10-axle Scheuerle K25 trailer parked. On this trailer is the main boom transported. The main boom has a length of 19.06 meters and has a mass of 104.4 tonnes.
Again one day later was the crane ready for the job. The job for this day was to lift three heavy concrete beams for a new bridge.
The eight-part main boom has an 18.3 meter base length and extends seven times to a maximum length of 100 meters. With the YSL-guying has the main boom a minimum length of 35.8 meters. The YSL-guying has a tailswing of approx. 16 meters, the beams of the guying are each openened 20 degrees.
Here is the main boom extended to a length of 47.5 meters, in this configuration is the crane able to hoist maximum 213 tonnes on a radius of 8 meters or 45.5 tonnes to a 44 meter radius. Here is the first beam hanging in the crane.
The beam has a mass of 78 tonnes.
The concrete beam is hoisted on a radius of approx. 26 meters.
Carefully is the first beam positioned on top of the bearings.
The crane is fitted with two 16-tonne hoist winches.
Here was an existing canal expanded and multiple bridges were built to make the park in the background more accesible for the residents.

The crane seems for this job a little bit to oversized, but in Singapore is it usual to consider a factor of safety of minimum 1.25 on the load chart for lifting in public projects.
