Company Gutheber from Senden (DE) is a small salvage company that is using two mobile cranes, this Liebherr LTM 1040-3 was used by the construction of a new hall in Memmingen (DE). In the meantime was this crane replaced by a new Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1.
It is a 40-tonne crane on a 3-axle undercarriage. Two axles are powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 442 diesel engine with a power of 281 kW (296 hp). All axles are steerable. The superstructure is also powered by the engine in the undercarriage.
In transport mode is the crane 11 meters long, 2.8 meters wide and 3.65 meters high. The transport mass is around 36 tonnes.
The outrigger base is 6.7 x 6.2 meters, or half 6.7 x 4.4 meters.
This version of the LTM 1040-3 has 8.2 tonnes of counterweight with a tailswing of 3.425 meters. Previous versions had 9 tonnes of counterweight, like this LTM 1040-3 of Van Marwijk.
The main boom has a base length of 9.5 meters and extends three times up to a maximum length of 30 meters. A 14.5-meter long bi-fold swingaway jib takes care of a maximum hook height of 45 meters.
Nowadays is this crane in operation with a Polish crane company.
