Fanger from Sachseln (CH) was operating this sharp Liebherr LR 1400/1. The crane was deliverd new to Fanger in 1997 and was erected on their yard during the spring of 2018. In 1997 was this the largest crane available in Switzerland.
The undercarriage of the crane is 8.7 meters wide and 10.4 meters long.
The crane is powered by a Liebherr D 9406 TI-E, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 300 kW (408 hp).
The crane was fitted here with 105 tonnes of counterweight, that exists out of a 15 tonne base plate and eigth slabs with each 10 tonnes. The full counterweight weights 155 tonnes. The tailswing of the counterweight is 7.18 meters.
A track is 10.4 meters long, 1.5 meters wide and 1.6 meters tall. The mass each is 27.1 tonnes. The crane can install the tracks to the carbody with use of the hydraulic cylinder which is attached to the gantry.
Between the tracks is in total 43 tonnes of central counterweight installed, that exists, per side, out of a 5.5 and a 16 tonne slab. Between the counterweight slabs are platforms installed to create a proper walking area. With the four hydraulic jacks attached to the body is the crane able to unload itself from the trailer.
The crane was erected here in L-configuration.
The main boom is here 35 meters long and can be extended to a maximum length of 98 meters.
At Fanger was this crane in 2016 replaced by a new Liebherr LR 1750/2.
Somewhere else on the yard are the boom sections for the main boom and derrick boom (28 meters) stored. Fanger did not had a luffing jib with the crane.
Also the missing counterweight for the superstructure and derrick. The last has a maximum mass of 250 tonnes and has a counter radius between 9 and 15 meters.
Special is this adapter that can be build in the main boom to angle the boom head away from the main boom. This was used for the erection of wind turbines.
With special thanks to Fanger to see the crane erected on their yard! In 2021 was this crane in operation with Mobi-Hub from Berlin (DE).
