Emil Egger from St. Gallen (CH) took in 2018 this sharp Liebherr LR 1250 into operation, the crane stood here on its first construction site in Oberbüren (CH).
The 250 tonne crawler crane is powered by a Liebherr D 944 A7-04 diesel engine with a power of 230 kW (313 hp). The diesel engine powers two hydraulic pumps that pump the oil to the drives for the crane movements.
The undercarriage is 8.7 meters long and 7 meters wide.
The counterweight has a total mass of 82.3 tonnes. The counterweight exists out of two wide plates with a mass of 12 and 10 tonnes, on top are in total 12 slabs with each a weight of 5 tonnes. The remaining 300 kg are from the connection bars that secures the counterweight. The counterweight has a tailswing of 6.2 meters.
The tracks must be removed for the transport over the road. A single track is 8.7 meters long, 1.2 meters wide and 1.45 meters tall. A single track weights 19.8 tonnes and has rigging points for the assembly. The plates with square holes are used to secure the tracks with the body once the crane is used with the reduced width of 5.8 meters.
In total has the crane 36 tonnes of central counterweight, that exists out of two large boxes with storage compartments with each 9.8 tonnes. On top are two plates with each 8.3 tonnes installed. Between the central counterweight and the body are platforms installed to create a fine horizontal walking area.
The crane is fitted with two 12-tonnes hoist winches, which are both in operation here. The adjustment winch for the luffing jib is attached to the boom foot of the main boom.
Here was the crane erected with a 29 meter long luffing jib. The maximum length of the luffing jib is 95 meters.
The main boom is here 32 meters long and has a maximum length of 86 meters. Once the crane is erected with a luffing jib has the main boom a maximum length of 59 meters, that can be combined with a 50 meter luffing jib.
A very sharp crane in the colours of Emil Egger!
