The largest crane that Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) is operating is this sharp Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 with year of manufacture 2014. It is a 750-tonne crane on a 9-axle carrier.
The main boom has a 16.3 meter base length and extends three times to a maximum length of 52 meters. The main boom can be extened by a 62 meter long fixed jib or a 91 meter long luffing jib. During the transport over the road remains the main boom around 1.4 meters extended, to give enough clearance for the hook to attached it to the bumper.
The undercarriage is powered by an 8-cylinder Liebherr diesel engine with a power of 505 kW (686 hp). The axles 2, 3, 5 and 6 are driven and all axles are steerable. During the assembly of the crane is the super structure powered by the engine in the undercarriage, but during crane operation is the crane powered by the engine that is integrated in the counterweight frame.
The X-shaped outrigger base measures 12 x 12 meters, or half 10 x 9.9 meters. All four outriggers remain attached to the crane during the transport over the road.
In transport mode is the crane around 23.3 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters high. The transport mass in the shown configuration is approx. 142 tonnes.
During the transport over the road is the cabin on the superstructure lowered between the two rear outriggers. During crane operation rotates the cabin around 180 degrees to the superstructure.
Behind the storage compartment on the undercarriage is a hydraulic outrigger installed that is used for stability during the erection and dismantling of the rear outriggers, once these are removed as is the case in many other countries. Because the crane can drive that complete over the road is the set-up and dismantling time reduced to the minimum, which is very important for the installation of beams if the crane is erected on the main road; sometimes is only a 4-hour time frame available.
The white and blue colours in the logo of Bok Seng have a special meaning; the blue represents a focussed direction, drive and dynamism where the white (in the shape of an eagle) represents visionary, tenacious and fearless. The arrow shaped logo is signifying the seamless logistics solutions that Bok Seng is providing to its customers.
With special thanks to Bok Seng for posing this very sharp crane!
In the mean time is a 1:50 (WSI) and a 1:87 (Kranlab) model of this crane for collectors available in the shops.
