This Kobelco BM500 of Plomp from Papekop (NL) stood on a construction site in Alphen a/d Rijn (NL) to drive a wall with sheetpiles.
Cranes from the BM-series do have a reinforced undercarriage and are according to Kobelco better usable for heavy duty and foundation works. The BM500 is a 50-tonne crane and can lift this 50 tonnes on a maximum 3.8 meter radius with a 12.2 meter long main boom.
The undercarriage is 5.57 meters long and 4.36 meters wide. For the transport over the road can the breadth be reduced to 3.3 meters.
The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6D16-TEI, a 7.5-liter 4-cylinder watercooled diesel engine with a power of 132 kW (180 hp). This engine powers in total three hydraulic pumps.
The crane's year of manufacture is 1997.
The crane is fitted with two 6.6-tonne hoist winches.
The 3-part counterweight weights in total 17 tonnes and has a 4.2 meter tailswing.
Here was the crane fitted with a 30.5 meter long main boom, the crane can lift now 23 tonnes on a 6.6 meter radius. The main boom has a maximum length of 51.8 meters.
