Demag AC 40-1 - Wundel

Next to the Terex AC 30 City stood this sharp Demag AC 40-1 City parked on the yard of Wundel from Kressbron (DE). It is a 3-axle 40-tonne city crane.

It is a very compact 40-tonne crane. During the transport over the road is the crane 8.57 meters long, 2.55 meters wide and 3.1 meters high. The transport mass is 32 tonnes including the 13-meter long bi-fold swingaway jib.

The undercarriage is powered by a Daimler-Benz OM 906 LA, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 205 kW (279 hp). This crane has the optional 6 x 6 x 6 drive line, all axles are steerable.

During the transport over the road is the boom negative moved down, to give the driver from the cabin a better overview to the right side.

The main boom has a 7.8 meter base length and extends four times to a total length of 31.2 meters. The main boom can be extended by a 13-meter long bi-fold swingaway jib.

The 4.3-tonne hoist winch with 16 mm hoist cable is attached to the base section of the boom. The main boom can now be installed more backwards and made longer.

The outrigger base measures 6.35 x 6.2 meters.

Nice detail, at the rear of the undercarriage is a box attached with inside the small runner. The runner is mainly used when the crane is working inside workshops.
