Peter van Muijen from Schagen (NL) is owning this impressive Demag AC 265 with year of manufacture 1993 that is still in operation. It is a 100-tonne crane mounted on a 4-axle carrier.
The undercarriage is powered by a Daimler-Benz OM 442 A, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 269 kW (365 hp). This crane has the optional 8x8x8-drive line where all axles are driven and steerable. The crane carrier has a single person cabin.
The 5-part main boom has an 11.5 meter base length and extends four times to a maximum length of 45 meters. The crane has a 5.5-tonne hoist winch.
The outrigger base of the crane measures 8.48 x 7 meters. During the transport over the road is a counterweight slab of 5.2 tonnes lowered onto the carrier.
In transit is the crane 13.7 meters long, 2.85 meters wide and 3.9 meters tall. The transport mass is approx. 48 tonnes.
Attached to the superstructure remains 4.8 tonnes of counterweight, the crane brings in total 10 tonnes of counterweight with it. The full counterweight of the crane is 18 tonnes but that doesn't fit on the crane. The counterweight has a 4.1 meter tailswing.
The superstructure is powered by a Daimler-Benz OM 366 A, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 121 kW (165 hp). The engine powers two hydraulic pumps. In 1993 was the crane new supplied by dealer Van der Spek from Vianen (NL) to Peter van Muijen.
A sharp and impressive crane! This company is still deploying two cranes; a Liebherr LTM 1030/1 and this Demag. The other cranes were a couple of years back sold to Schot from Alkmaar (NL).
Quickly back into the garage, with thanks to Peter van Muijen for posing the crane!
