MAN, has its origin when companies Maschinenbau-AG Nürnberg and Maschinenfabrik Augusburg merged under the name Vereinigten Maschinenfabrik Augsburg und Maschinenbaugesellschaft Nürnberg AG. In 1908 the name was changed to Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg (short M.A.N.). The current company is manufacturing trucks, busses and diesel engines. In the past also tractors were built.
