End of October 2019 took Kim Soon Lee from Singapore (SG) this sharp Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 in operation. It is the first crane of this type in the country. After erection and instruction stood the crane parked on the yard, the crane couldn't leave the yard, as the licence plates weren't attached yet.
It is a 230-tonne crane on a 5-axle carrier.
The crane is powered by a Liebherr 6-cylinder diesel engine with 544 hp. Through an automatic transmission by ZF with 12 gears are three of the five axles driven (10 x 6), optionally can the third axle by driven also, but that is in Singapore not necessary. During crane operation are the hydraulic pumps to operate the crane functions also powered by the undercarriage engine.
In transport mode is the crane 16.54 meters long (incl. second winch), 3 meters wide and 4 meters high. The lower counterweight slab weights 12 tonnes and can remain on the undercarriage; in Singapore is an axle load up to 16 tonnes allowed.
The full outrigger base measures 9.35 x 8.1 meters.
The full counterweight weights 72 tonnes and can be used in two different tail swings by swinging the supports, this feature is called VarioBallast and is available on multiple models nowadays. The smallest tailswing is 4.83 meters, the largest 5.73 meters.
A sharp addition for Kim Soon Lee's fleet, that only exists out of Liebherr mobile cranes. The largest crane is a Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2. This company is also active in heavy haulage, container transport, lorry cranes and storage of goods.
The main boom has a 12.7 meter base length and extends seven times to a maximum length of 75 meters. The main boom can be extended by a 20 meter bi-fold swingaway jib. The jib angle is adjustable by hydraulics between 0 and 40 degrees. With three optional 7-meter lattice sections is a total boom head height of more then 110 meters achieved.
A sharp addition for the company and the country of Singapore!
