Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 - Hiap Tong
Hiap Tong from Singapore (SG) is deploying two units Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1. This crane with year of manufacture 2010 stood parked on their yard during a weekend.
The 8-axle undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr D9508 A7, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 500 kW (680 hp). The axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are powered and the axles 1 to 4, 7 and 8 are steerable.
The crane has a 7-part main boom with a 16.1 meter base length that extends to a full length of 84 meters. The main boom can be extended by a 63 meter fixed jib or a 91 meter luffing jib.
The outrigger base measures 10 x 9,6 meters.
The crane does not have a licence plate and must be towed between destinations, hence the crane is traveling without the hook. In transit is the crane 21.4 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall.
The 25-tonne XCMG truck crane only looks small next to the 500-tonner.
The cabin on the superstructure slews during the transport over the road behind the superstructure. During crane operation is here hanging maximum 165 tonnes of counterweight.
