By coincidence I found on an early saterday morning this Gar Wwood M20 A/F crane.
The crane is owned by a privat person and is used twice a year, in the spring to hoist a boat into the water and in the autumn to take the boat out of the water.
It is a 16 tonne crane that also could be equipped with a lattice boom. The number 20 in the crane type is the capacity in US tons.
The boom is not original, it is a double extending Grove boom.
The crane is mounted on a FWD MUC 6x6 undercarriage.
To adjust the boom not an hydraulic cylinder is used but an gantry that is attached to the base boom.
Gar Wood cranes were built for the US Army and used during the Korean War in the fifties. Gar Wood was also manufacturer of garbage trucks, towing trucks and bulldozers.
A very rare and special crane!
