Disassembly wind turbine by Sarens

For a big overhauling of a wind turbine nacelle, it was necessary to take of the nacelle from the tower.

Sarens from Dordrecht (NL) was using to cranes for this jib; two pieces Terex AC 500-2 put up with a luffing jib and SSL guying.

The lifting equipment is attached to the hooks. In both AC 500s is hanging a equilizer with an adjustable double hook, with that the lifting frame of manufacturer Vestas is able to rotate.

The left AC 500-2 is put up with a 42 meter luffing jib, the crane at the right with a 48 meter luffing jib. The max. length of the luffing jib is 90 meters.

Here is hanging the 55 tonne nacelle in both cranes. To do this jib with twee cranes in stead of one bigger one, can be worked with higher wind speeds.

The main boom of the left crane is extended 51.8 meters, the right one has extended his boom 47.2 meters.

The left crane is put up with 140 tonnes of counterweight, at the right a little less; 120 tonnes. The tailswing of the counterweight is 6.1 meters.

Some weeks later the nacelle was put back on the tower again by two cranes.
