Lifting a boat part by Sarens

Sarens was using this Terex CC 2800-1 from pontoon to hoist a ship hull in Gouda (NL).

The crane is put up with 48 metres of main boom and superlift.

On the same pontoon is standing a by Sarens hired Terex CC 2800-1 of PVE. This crane can also beeing put up with NT (Narrow Track) undercarriage.

The hull (can be seen at the left) is built in Rotterdam (NL) and transported over water to Kaag (NL). The big bottleneck is the sluice in Gouda that is to small for this part (14 meters).

That is why the hull, with 540 tonnes is hoisted from the pontoon and lay down on special floats. With them the parts could pass the sluis and could be assembled together somewhere else.

As assist crane is standing a Liebherr LTM 1100-5.2 between the lattice boom cranes.

Ballasting the pontoon with the CC 2800s takes about 6 hours.

Meanwhile the 540 tonne ship hull is hanging in the cranes, the transport pontoon is driven away.

Finally this yacht will reach a length of 102 metres. When the yacht is ready in 2014, the sluice by Gouda is rebuild sothat the yacht can pass it without any problems.
